The program was created to allow Olim to:

• Serve in the IDF reserves
• Contribute their professional experience and skills
• Become part of Israel’s defense system
• Strengthen their integration into Israeli society

The program enables participants to serve alongside Israeli reserve soldiers, even if they did not complete the standard IDF enlistment and training.

Olim Al Bet provides a condensed pathway to reserve service.

Application and Screening

Interested Olim submit their details and are evaluated by the IDF Manpower Directorate to determine eligibility.

Basic Military Training

Accepted participants complete a short basic training program designed to prepare participants for integration into reserve units, which includes:

• Introduction to military discipline and structure
• Basic military skills
• Orientation to the IDF reserve system

Placement in Reserve Units

• After completing training, participants are assigned to IDF reserve units.
• Where possible, the IDF may consider the individual’s professional background or experience when determining placement.
